Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacancies existing within Bukomansimbi District Local Government.

Application forms PSC Form 3 (Revised 2008) are obtainable from the Office of the Public Service Commission, Kampala, and District Service Commissions country wide, Chief Administrative Officer’s Offices and Town clerks offices or www.psc.co.ug.

 

Filled forms (3) copies must be accompanied by 3 recent coloured pass port size photographs plus certified copies of all relevant certificates/pass slips/transcripts to reach the Secretary District Service Commission, P.O. Box 293, Masaka not later than 30th November, 2017.

  1. Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Degree in Primary Education or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Must have attended at least four workshops/seminars and four short courses relevant to the profession.
  • Must be registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports

  1. Working Experience;

Minimum of fifteen years of working experience, three of which should have been at either Principal Education Assistant level with administrative responsibilities or as Deputy Headteacher Primary.

  2. To prepare the schemes of work/lesson plans and teach students according to the set time table;

 

  1. To be in charge of overall administration and management of the school;
  • To plan for the physical development of the school and professional development of the staff;
  1. To plan organize, direct and coordinate the teaching programs and activities of the staff and students;
  2. To ensure proper planning, budgeting and accountability of the school activities and resources in consultation with the management committee;
  3. To coordinate the functions of the Management Committee and account to them and the Ministry of Education and Sports;
  • To initiate development projects for the school and mobilize resources for their implementation;
  • To supervise and appraise all staff and employees of the institution and assess their performance;
  1. To prepare progress and summary reports for presentation and submission to the board of governors and the Ministry of Education and Sports;
  2. To establish and maintain relationships with other education institutions;
  3. To plan and chair meetings of the school; and
  • To conduct any other duties related to the profession.

a)      Qualifications

·                A minimum of Grade III teaching certificate or equivalent of this from a recognized institution,

·                Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports

No previous experience required.

 

b)      Key Competences required for the post

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.

 

c)       Key Duties of the post/Key Result Areas;

·         To prepare the schemes of work and lesson plans in line with approved curriculum on termly and weekly basis;

·         To conduct lessons and remedial work according to set timetable;

·         To participate in setting, administration and marking internal and external examinations;

·         To carry out continuous assessment and evaluation of pupils performance;

·         To prepare and select appropriate learning materials for classrooms teaching;

·         To keep and maintain class records;

·         To guide and council pupils;

·         To participate in class meetings;

·         To serve as classroom teacher;

·         To participate in co-curricular activities and community activities;

·         To conduct any other duties related to the profession

  1. Qualifications

EITHER: A minimum of a Diploma with a bias in Accounting or Financial Management or Business Studies/Administration with Accounting and/or Financial Management as a subject obtained from a recognized awarding institution.

 

OR Full Professional Qualification in Accounting Qualification (ATC or CAT) awarded from a recognized institution.

 

  1. Work Experience

At least 3 years working experience at the level of an Accounts Assistant in a Public or a reputable Organization

 

  1. c) Key Duties of the post/Key Result Areas:
  2. Providing custody for accounting records and documents,
  3. Processing deferred tax payments and returns and keeping records thereof,;

iii. Posting financial transactions, cashbooks and subsidiary ledgers to General ledger and updating books of accounts;

  1. Preparing pay change report forms and reconciling payroll transaction reports,
  2. Entering transactions into the commitment control register,
  3. Providing custody of cash and imprest and effecting payments

vii. Preparing draft monthly reconciliation reports

a)Qualifications

Ordinary Level Certificate with at least 2 credits including English language and three (3) passes’

UNEB Certificate or diploma in secretarial studies or equivalent qualifications from a recognized

awarding institution with the following subjects;

-Business Communication Stage II

– Typewriting Stage II (40 wpm)

– Shorthand Stage I (60/70 wpm)

– Office Practice II/Secretarial Studies II

 

b)Key Duties of the post/Key Result Areas;

  1. i) Taking dictation, transcribing and presenting it into accurate and error free work;
  2. ii) Receiving and dispatching mails for the office;

iii)  Receiving and guiding clients to the right offices;

  1. iv) Making appointments and following up;

 

 

  1. v) Supervising and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the office;
  2. vi) Managing office equipment and stationary properly; and

vii) Supervising lower support staff.

   Ordinary Level Certificate with Motor Vehicle Mechanics Certificate

 

b)Key Duties of the post/Key Result Areas;

– Driving the grader for official duty and assignment;

– Carrying out basic maintenance of the vehicle;

– Reporting major mechanical faults to supervising officer;

– Maintaining basic records regarding the Grader as instructed; and

– Ensuring the safety of the Grader while on duty.
