The district is new; having been created by act of parliament in 2010. It became functional on 1 July 2010, with its headquarters located at Bukomansimbi Town. It was formerly part of Masaka District, before it was split off as a separate independent district.

Welcome to Bukomansimbi District website, a website that provides you with information about the overview of the district achievements, budgetary operations (finances) and the planned investments aimed at promoting access to and utilisation of social services as a means of improving the quality of life for the people of Bukomansimbi District and much more besides.
Like any other district in Uganda, Bukomansimbi District receives government funds for provision of public services. The communities participates in the planning process to ensure that national & local priorities are met by this funding.
Donors have complemented central government roles by funding specific sector projects. Their contribution has immensely promoted service delivery.
It is therefore my pleasure to share with you the achievements, problems encountered and lessons learnt under the different sectors and I hope users of this information will benefit.
